Caw! Caw! The Raven's Rookery has returned! Originally scheduled during the pandemic year, the Tavern has a new start date. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, our Tavern is reborn and brighter than ever.
The fall's unique tavern dining experience is here. Expect our ever popular house-made sourdough, fresh traditionally made soft pretzels, cheeses, fruits, paprika goulash, and delicious apple pies! Oh, and how could we forget - homebrewed ale! We have two new games for the tables, new treats, new menu items, new drinks - what a way to bring back the Tavern, with so many new things!
The Raven's Rookery is part of The Tavern at the Crossroads project which aims to offer a welcoming social setting with simple food, drink, music, and games contained within a medieval thematic setting. We have wooden mugs and horns of ale, tin plates filled with simple hearty meals, house-baked breads, rustic tables games, and the great company of fellow tavern seekers - all while delightful music fills the air. Come take a seat at our tables during the newly scheduled date of September 11 and September 25, 2021!

Sigil
Objective: (A memory and matching game for the whole table) The player who organizes their sigils closest to the dealer’s sigils wins.
🕈 Choose a dealer.
🕈 The players and the dealer ante in one coin to the pot.
🕈 The dealer organizes their sigils face down in a line according to the rules below.
🕈 The Three Primes (Mind ☿, Body 🜔, Soul 🜍): must be equally spaced. Each prime must touch, or each prime must have a tile between them, or each prime must have two tiles between them, or each prime must have three tiles between them
🕈 The Four Basic Elements: Air 🜁 / Earth 🜃 must not touch, Fire 🜂 /Water 🜄 must not touch.
🕈 Sun ☉ and Moon ☽ must either be touching or as far apart as possible - use the placement of Sol to determine the furthest placement of Moon.
🕈 Players place their own sigils in front of them - hiding them from view of the other players. At any point before the game is ended, players may rearrange their sigils.
🕈 Moving clockwise from the dealer, the players take turns. The active player can do one of the three options:
🕈 The active player points to the tile from the dealers line to reveal, and the dealer flips it over showing the sigil to the entire table. The active player then indicates to the dealer that they are done, and the dealer flips the tile over - hiding the sigil again. The player’s turn is over.
🕈 If the player wishes to see the tile secretly (not revealing the tile to the entire table), the player may add one coin to the pot to do so. After paying, the player selects a tile, and the dealer gives the tile to the player to secretly examine. The player keeps the tile - preventing anyone from seeing it for a whole turn. At the beginning of the player's next turn, the tile is placed back, face down, in it's original location.
🕈 The active player may pay one coin to end play. When play is ended, all players and the dealer reveal their line of sigils.
🕈 Scoring:
🕈 The player’s line who matches the dealers wins the pot of coins. In case of a tie, the players split the pot. Extra coins go to the player(s) who last added money to the pot.
🕈 If no player’s line matches the dealers, the player’s line who most closely resembles the dealer’s splits the pot with the dealer. Extra coins go to the dealer.
🕈 In the event that the dealer forms a line of sigils that breaks a rule, the dealer collects no money from the pot and has to ante in two coins in the next game.
